Al Marjan

Al Marjan Island is considered as one of the most important touristic places teeming with tourists in Ras Al Khaimah. The longest slipstream in the world

The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has record a new record in Guinness World Records with the launch of the latest adventure tourism destination, Jebel Jais Flight: The Longest slipstream in the World, which is considered the latest addition to its diverse list of touristic facilities.

The "Jebel Jais Flight" track expends for 2.83 km, which equal to the length of 28 football fields and 1,680 meters above the sea level, which has been opened to the visitors on 1st February.

The slipstream is operated by "Toro Verde Ras Al Khaimah", the world's leading company in the slipstreams operating field.

The slipstream, which includes a metal cable weighing more than 6 tons, was built after a year of study and planning. The construction processes included feasibility studies, planning, comprehensive surveys, soil testing and simulations. For preservation of the environment, the slipstream and its supporting structures were carefully designed without affecting the environment, as strong anchor holes were drilled in the hard rocks of the solid "Hajar Mountains" in a process that alone took 6 months of the continuous work.

The participants take a horizontal position that allows them to make a flight experience that is as close to the real flight as possible, as they will wear special equipment for this adventure. The journey through the first and longest track in the world shall take approximately 2 to 3 minutes, after which the adventurers will reach a unique suspended landing platform where they will move to a second track with a length of 1 km to complete their journey back to the Earth.

"Al Suwaidi Pearls"

One of the most important destinations in Ras Al Khaimah is the “Al Suwaidi Pearls” farm, which is a new natural touristic product, bearing economic, touristic, environmental and historical dimensions. It was established at 100 meters from the Khor Al Rams Beach in Ras Al Khaimah, to daily give touristic delegations and pearl lovers a unique and varied experience between the practical benefit and watching the stages of farming and extraction of the finest Arabian pearls, in addition to recreation in the designated areas on the marine platform within the program of natural simulation of the ancestral life, amid a breathtaking view on the towering mountains and palm plantations.

"Al Suwaidi Farm" is considered the first farm for cultured pearls in the region, and it is one of the national entrepreneurship projects in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and the only one in the country that provides pearls from local sources to jewelry makers around the world, in addition to its role as a touristic product visited by tourists from countries around the world to enjoy the experience of the pearl extraction from the oysters.

Al Suwaidi Pearls Farm was established in 2005 by Abdullah Al Suwaidi with the aim of preserving the legacy of his ancestors and reviving one of the traditional historical crafts of which the UAE prides. It is the only pearl farm in the region that uses naturally farmed and hand pollinated oysters instead of the marine oysters.

Following-up: Muhammad Al-Wasila, Iman Sorour, Hessa Seif, Mona Al-Badawi, Muhammad Al-Mahi and Amir Al-Sunni

Male and female students of the public and private schools that follow the Ministry of Education curriculum, and kindergartens in the various emirates of the country, regularly attended the first semester, which was launched in the first stages of the 2021-2022 academic year, and includes three educational patterns (presence, hybrid and virtual), all of them simulating the students in different stages of education, amid various precautionary procedures and health protocols, as School Administrations made flexible schedules for students attendance enabling them for the available education patterns.

Schools shall receive 50% of the students during the first week of the study, and 100% in the second week in accordance with the approved gradual return plan, with an emphasize on the importance of obtaining the vaccine against the Corona pandemic (COVID-19), and (PCR) test to ensure the health status stability of the students and all educational community groups.

The first studying day witnessed varying rates of absence in some schools, because all students weren't be able to obtain the result of the “PCR” test, and the Emirates Foundation for School Education allowed them to attend today(Monday), while the school administrations were keen, through the work teams formed to start the school daily attendance, to apply the safe return procedures by ensuring that students obtained a negative “PCR” nasal swab, measuring their temperatures, and arranging their entry from the buses to school.

 

The concerned teams followed up the application of social distancing procedures inside the classrooms, during the two scheduled breaks, upon using the facilities, and the extent to which students adhere to the procedures, including wearing the masks, providing the sterilization tools, and other precautionary procedures during the school day.

Abu Dhabi

On (Sunday) About 400,000 students from the public and private schools throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi returned to their schools (472 schools) with the commencement of the 2022/2021 academic year, amid the strict precautionary and preventive procedures.

Number of school principals in Abu Dhabi confirmed that the attendance percentage of the student to schools and choosing the direct educational system within the classes reached to about 70% of the total students and they were housed in the full-time system, or hybrid education according to the classrooms spaces to ensure the preservation of social and physical distance between the students and leaving a distance of one meter between each student and another, noting that there is an absence rate among the students because the students did not complete the PCR swap.

On their side, the parents praised the return of schools instead of the remote education, and demanded that a PCR test be conducted in the schools to facilitate the students, especially since the younger children can conduct a saliva test for them to facilitate and speed up the sample collection process, in addition to that the school nurses are trained to take a nasal swab for the older students.

 

221 private schools and educational partnership schools received their students, however a few private schools apologized to parents for not being able to receive their children due to the delay for obtaining the licenses of their school clinics by the concerned authorities. Parents were informed that their children will receive a remote learning through the Microsoft Teams program from first grade to secondary stage, until they are informed of any updates as issued by the department.

Abu Dhabi schools adhered to the highest standards in applying the precautionary and preventive procedures to preserve the health and safety of students and educational staff, as schools showed high levels of compliance upon receiving their students.

Khaled Al-Saidi, principal of a secondary school, stated that the school has allocated entry and exit gates for the students with adhering to safety distances between them.

Hassan bin Zayed Al Shamsi, Vice Principal of a secondary school, pointed out that all the procedures and measures implemented by schools in these days, for the sake of the children's interest and returning activity of the study, are an integrated system through which we can complete and meet our hopes, goals and ambitions, for a new start that provides the security and safety to our students and educational staff.

The Al Mwahb School Principal, Zabih Al-Qamzi, added that she felt the students' happiness for returning to the realistic study.

Sharjah

Public and private schools in Sharjah received their students in all academic levels at the beginning of the academic year, and the entry gates witnessed following-up the precautionary procedures by committees composed of teaching staff to ensure the students' commitment of taking the vaccine for the targeted groups, wearing a mask, and passing through the sterilization and thermal measurement gates.

The bells were rung after the students organized in the morning queue and listened to the instructions of school officials for adhering to the social distancing.

A number of principals of Sharjah schools confirmed to the "Al-Khaleej" their determination that this year shall be the normal return to the school yard after ensuring the required conditions, noting that they had taken all procedures before the students returned to regularity in their classes, and put proactive plans in preparation for various possibilities to ensure a healthy and safety learning environment for the educational staff.

Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Sharjah Education Council Chairman, ensured that receiving the new school year of 2021 2022 is an important and joyous occasion that fills society with hope and optimism for the students return to the education seats, whether by attendance or remotely, in order to integrate all national goals and go towards building empowered generations that lead the future towards a broader horizon.

On a related level, the Sharjah Police General Headquarter welcomed the new academic year of 2021-2022 with an integrated security plan and applying all precautionary procedures, in coordination and cooperation with the strategic partners and relevant authorities to ensure provision of the highest standards of security and safety for students and educational staff.

 

Since the commencement of the new academic year on Sunday, Sharjah Police intensified the presence of 70 traffic patrols at intersections and internal and external roads in the emirate to organize the traffic movement and to facilitate the movement of the school buses.

Major General/ Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, emphasized the importance of effective coordination procedures followed by all work teams to stabilize the educational process in the emirate and to ensure the safety and security of students, praising the excellence of the Sharjah Private Education Authority's plans that guarantee the safety of educational staff, students and parents.

Ajman

The teaching and administrative bodies in Ajman public and private schools arranged in the midst of a heavy attendance of students and their parents, and some schools organized celebrations to receive male and female students and the school yard was decorated, with the presence of educational supervisors to organize the entry of students, and to ensure the application of the precautionary procedures.

Some educational officials emphasized that this year witnessed a distinguished presence after the students tended to receive the vaccine, which reassured parents and encouraged them to bring their children to the school, which helped increasing the number of students in schools in attendance, noting that the plans made by the teaching and administration entities were enough for succeeding the first day of the academic year by overcoming all difficulties and setting early teaching and administrative plans to facilitate the educational process.

Fujairah

Life has been resumed in the educational institutions in the Emirate of Fujairah, announcing a promising and strong commencement for the new academic year, after the forced stop due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic (COVID-19) in the last academic year.

With the commencement of the new academic year, public and private schools that follow the Ministry’s curriculum in the cities and regions of the Emirate of Fujairah witnessed a large presence of male and female students, amid precautionary procedures and strict preventive measures to ensure a safe and stable academic year, as all educational institutions assigned an official to review the results of negative tests for students, a heat detector and sterilization in front of the school gates.

 

«Al-Khaleej» monitored the beginning of the academic year in a number of schools in the Emirate of Fujairah, after the traffic patrols and police teams that intensified their presence and patrols of Fujairah Police Headquarters contributed to smoothing and controlling the traffic movement, while the Community Police Department in Fujairah Police presented flowers to the students in the Emirate's schools.

Ras Al Khaimah

Amna Abdullah Al Zaabi, Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Educational Zone, and a member of the local emergency, crises and disasters management team in Ras Al Khaimah, confirmed that all 34 private schools in the emirate that met the conditions and applied to the social distancing and precautionary procedures received more than 90% of their students on the first day of the academic year.

She explained that the schools, whose infrastructure and size of classes were large, were able to comfortably receive most students, while some schools received students in batches, provided that all stages being received on next Wednesday, and schools that follow the group system and divide each seminar in a private building separating from the rest of the stages, the organizational matters were much easier in terms of applying the precautionary procedures.

Umm Al Quwain

Amid exceptional preparations, Umm Al Quwain schools received male and female students for the 2021-2022 academic year, after nearly a year and a half of implementing the hybrid and remote education due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Emirate's schools emphasized their readiness to receive the students on the first school day, with adherence to all precautionary procedures, pointing out that all teachers in the school and the administrative body were vaccinated, but the third booster dose was taken for most teachers and the administrative body, and school facilities were prepared in line with the requirements approved by the Ministry.

She stated that the percentage of students' commitment on the first day ranged between 70 and 90%, noting that coordination is ongoing and continues with the educational area and schools in general in order to ensure the safety of our students and the educational and administrative staff.

The "Ras Al Khaimah International Center", which is the authority of international companies registration in Ras Al Khaimah, announced signing of a memorandum of understanding with the "Department of Economic Development", which is concerned with issuing the licenses for the local companies in the emirate, aimed to open the field for investors of the international companies to expand and conduct the scope of their business activities inside the Emirate, by establishing subsidiaries licensed by the Department.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ras Al Khaimah International Center, witnessed conclusion of the memorandum of understanding signed by Dr. Samir Al Ansari, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah International Center and Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director-General of the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah.

The cooperation between the two entities allows the companies registered in the “Ras Al Khaimah International Center” to corporate subsidiaries licensed by the “Department of Economic Development” in Ras Al Khaimah in order to carry on their business activities inside the emirate, and to benefit from the advantages of the international and local companies, whereas the owners of these companies can benefit from the tax exemptions imposed on the income of individuals and companies, to ease of movement of capital, to collect the profits and the reduced customs fees, and to lift restrictions on the currencies. Owners of these companies shall also have options for the office spaces, ability to open corporate bank accounts, freedom of the global trade and investment, and eligibility to obtain residence visas for investors and employees in the United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi expressed his optimism for the cooperation with the department and the "Ras Al Khaimah International Center" in order to achieve the aspirations and strategic vision of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah for making the emirate's land as fertile and attractive land for investments and to facilitate the investors to manage their projects successfully and dynamically with a number of grants and advantages offered by the department to them.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi emphasized the importance of this partnership between the Center and the Department of Economic Development in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah as it will help to enhancing the competitiveness of the emirate and its ability to attract the investors from all over the world to take advantage of the available opportunities, advanced infrastructure and innovative solutions that support business on its way to the excellence.

From his part, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi stated: “The memorandum of understanding is a coronation of the partnership efforts between the two entities in order to enhance the attraction of foreign investment, and grant the investors registered in the Ras Al Khaimah International Center opportunity to carry on their economic activities in the emirate with flexibility and easiness, and to enjoy the benefits that the department will provide them with, in a way to enhance the stimulation of the economic sector in the emirate.

Dr. Samir Al-Ansari explained that signing the memorandum represents a milestone which opens up prospects of the cooperation for supporting the customers in order to meet all requirements of realistic economic activities. He also expressed his hope that companies shall benefit from the available opportunities and benefits offered, in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah to expand the scope of their business within the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Conclusion of the Memorandum of Understanding between the “Ras Al Khaimah International Center” and the “Department of Economic Development” in Ras Al Khaimah enhances the existing concept of cooperation between the various government agencies, which work to achieve a common objective for the benefit of the customers and advancing the economic development in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Al Tayer: Enhancing mass transportation to be the preferred choice for the exhibition's visitors

The Roads and Transport Authority announced its plan for transporting Expo 2020 visitors, from the various emirates of the country, including determination of nine sites distributed in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, and the allocation of 70 buses, which shall run 193 trips per day on weekdays, rising to 213 trips per day on Thursday and Friday.
Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors, confirms the authority's keenness to facilitate the visitors transportation process from different emirates to the Expo 2020 site, and vice versa, and that public transportation shall be the preferred option for transporting the exhibition visitors.
He stated: As part of its comprehensive operational plan for the movement of visitors of Expo 2020, the Roads and Transport Authority provided an integrated public transport buses fleet, which are characterized by their compliance with the European specifications for low carbon emissions "Euro 6", the first fleet of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, based on its keenness to preserve the environment and rationalizing the energy, which contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the bus, the presence of a low entrance in the buses has been provided to facilitate the movement of thedisabled persons, and providing the best services for users of the public transportation, through the distinguished interior finishes and vast seats, and providing the special seats for children, Wi-Fi service, and a USB access for charging mobile phones and providing them with smart systems.
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
The Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Directors, clarified that the transport plan of Expo 2020 visitors from different emirates includes the allocation of four sites in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the first site is the Abu Dhabi International Airport Station, providing 10 buses, which shall be run 31 trips per day in both directions on the days from Saturday to Wednesday, and 33 trips per day in both directions on Thursdays and Fridays, and the second site is Abu Dhabi Main Bus Station, provideing 10 buses, shall be run 26 trips per day in both directions on the days from Saturday to Wednesday, and 29 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and the third site is the Marina Mall Station, providing 10 buses, which shall be run 27 trips per day in both directions from Saturday to Wednesday, and 28 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and the fourth station is Al Ain Bus Station, and the authority has allocated 9 buses for such station, which shall run 22 trips per day in both directions on the days from Saturday to Wednesday, and 25 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and the tracking time between the bus trips in all four locations is 20 minutes.
Sharjah
He added: The authority determined two sites for transporting the visitors from the Emirate of Sharjah, the first site is Jubail Bus Station, and 10 buses have been allocated for it, 29 trips shall be run per day in both directions on the days from Saturday to Wednesday, and 33 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and the tracking time shall be 20 minutes, the second site is Muwailih Station, and 10 buses have been allocated for it. 32 trips shall be run per day in both directions from Saturday to Wednesday, and 37 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and tracking time shall be 15 minutes.
Ras Al-Khaimah and Ajman
The authority determined two bus stations in Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman for transporting the visitors from the two Emirates, as seven buses are been allocated from Ras Al Khaimah passing to Ajman, and 17 trips shall be run per day in both directions on the days from Saturday to Wednesday, and 18 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and the tracking time shall be 60 minutes.
Fujairah
The authority has allocated four buses for transporting the visitors from the Emirate of Fujairah, specifically from the bus station near to Fujairah City Center, and nine trips shall be run per day in both directions on the days from Saturday to Wednesday, and 10 trips per day in both directions on Thursday and Friday, and the tracking time shall be two-hours.
